Intercom Calls
On intercom calls, your voice can come out of the speaker in another phone, and someone
near that phone can reply without even touching it. For a more private conversation, the
person you called can pick up the phone's handset, and the speaker will shut off. |
Programmable Ringing
Different phones can ring on different lines, at different times, with manual or automatic
change-over. |
Ring Tone Selection
Digital phones allow you to choose one of eight different ringing sounds for each line,
which will save time and avoid annoyance if two businesses, or home and office, share a
phone system. You'll know whether or not to answer a phone without looking for a flashing
light. |
Music
Any radio with an earphone jack, or a CD player or tape deck, can provide both
music-on-hold and background music. Music can be set to come out of your phone's speaker,
and when you use the phone, your music stops. You can also provide a commercial message to
callers on hold. |
Security
Your system can be programmed for privacy on some phones or all phones, so no one can
interrupt or eavesdrop. Some phones can be programmed to be able to join calls in
progress. Phones can be locked electronically to prevent unauthorized use, and can have
various degrees of restricted dialing, to prevent costly long-distance calls, or calls to
"900"-numbers or "976"-numbers. You can also program the system so
data and fax transmissions won't be interrupted. |
Conference Call
You can easily set up a conference call to speak with two other people. With the together,
and then leave the conversation. |
Intercom Monitor
The intercom allows you to monitor what's going on wherever you have another phone -- such
as in a warehouse or in a baby's room. |
Automatic Redial
A phone can recognize a busy signal and hang up, and then automatically dial again and
again until the call is answered. The digital control units allow you to program the
re-dialing interval. |
Call Forwarding
Calls intended for your phone, can be automatically forwarded to any phone or to an
outside line. |
One-Touch Dialing
One-Touch Dialing allows you to call someone, without first selecting a line or picking up
the handset (on digital phones). The Call Log feature in the KX-T7235 digital phone shows
recently-called phone numbers that can be dialed again by just touching a button. |
Hot-Line
Hot-Line dialing on a digital system allows someone to call a pre-set phone number simply
by picking up a handset or pressing the speaker button. It also lets a fax or modem
automatically select a specific line for sending documents or data files. |
Call Accounting
With all control units except the KX-T308, you can use a printer or "call
accounting" software to provide a record of who called where, when, and how long they
spoke. You can use account codes to assign costs to clients, employees, departments and
projects. |
Absent Messages
If you are away when someone calls you, the caller's phone can show messages like "at
lunch," "gone home," "in a meeting, "or "on vacation until
9/15". |
Automatic Route Selection
Automatic Route Selection can make calls on specific lines based on programming for
least-costly calling at a particular time. |
DISA Card
A "DISA" card in either the analog or digital 1232 control unit allows callers
from the outside to reach specific people or departments, without human help. |
Paging
Your phone system can connect to an amplifier and Public Address speakers for
announcements where there are no phones, or in high-noise locations. |
Extra Device Port (XDP)
The XDP jack on digital phones can have the same extension number as the phone itself, for
convenient use of an answering machine or cordless; or a different number so you can use a
modem or fax on one phone line while speaking on another line. It's a great place to plug
in a laptop or desktop PC. |
Caller ID Display
If your local phone company provides Caller ID service and you have a digital control
unit, your phones can display callers' names and phone numbers. If the phone company does
not provide names, the system can supply them from memory. |
Voice Processing System
The digital control units are designed to take advantage of special features in
Panasonic's new Voice Processing systems, for voicemail, automated attendant, pager
activation, call-screening, call-recording, interview service, and more. |
