KX-TD Software Version Differences

This page addresses the differences in the software versions of the KX-TD816 & KX-TD1232 Software and features for the Digital Super Hybrid System.

The first KX-TD Systems did NOT have a DASH NUMBER

The KX-TD adds DPITS from the KX-T series of Panasonic Phone Systems.

LCS, 2-Way Record, 2 Way Transfer.
Prg 990 area 2 Field 18 has no effect in DPITS.
In a few version of software “799” is missing from flexible numbering.

NOTE: For upgrade to current -5 version system software, see below.

Any system with a Serial Number Code Date less then "0L" requires a CPU board upgrade.

Systems with a serial number of "0L" or newer only need to change the chip set.

First Digit = Year of Manufacture.

Second Digit = Month of Manufacture.

CPU's , Chip Sets & Installations are available from us.

Installation of these upgrade should be performed by a Certified Panasonic Dealer.

Please check with us @ 908-684-9700, We have several boards in stock that have already been upgraded.

What's New For -6 ?

DASH-6 release and the integration of the new T1 PRI card released summer 2002.

Currently only ISDN-BRI is supported for the KX-TD816 & 1232 PBX Systems.

What is ISDN-BRI ?
(Integrated Services Digital Network - Basic Rate Interface)

Highest Bandwith: Two 64 Kbps (64 Thousand bits per second) channels and one 16 Kbps data channel, which can be combined to give you 128 Kbps.
Best used for: Dial-up data, voice videoconferencing, multiple links on a single telephone line.

What is ISDN-PRI ?
(Integrated Services Digital Network - Primary Rate Interface)

Highest Bandwith: 23 Channels of 64 Kbps and one 16 Kbps data channel, which can be combined to give you 1.5 Mbps (1.5 Million bits per second).
Best used for: Dial-up data, voice videoconferencing, multiple links on SAME telephone line.

VERSION -7

Version 7 was the last release before this phone system was discontinued

I don't have the upgrade specs for ver-7, but as I understand it there was only small differences between the -6 & -7.

This is the latest revision and comes with free caller-id for the first 4 CO lines. The KSU initially comes configured for 8 Lines and 16 Digital Stations, (16 Digital and 16 Analog) for a total of 32 stations.

The Panasonic KX-TD1232 is the perfect choice for a large business, or a growing medium-sized business, as it is capable of up to 32 CO lines and 64 stations for one cabinet! The system is expandable to 128 stations with dual cabinets.

The TVS50, 80, 90, 120 and newer allow trunk service, but the PBX needs to be -4 or newer.

The -3 or -4 would be needed if you wanted the features that came out with those versions.

Things like Lunch mode, and pbx control of day/night, etc.
